We are proud to announce that The Rotunda Hospital has been awarded Global Antimicrobial Stewardship Scheme (GAMSAS) Level Three accreditation and recognised as a Centre of Excellence for antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) by British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC).
The assessors commended the Rotunda Hospital for their strong executive and clinical leadership, proactive education, clear guidance and robust surveillance infrastructure. AMS is embedded into clinical practice and the team provide mentorship and clinical support to other facilities.
This achievement reflects our AMS team’s national leadership and our ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care. Congratulations to the AMS team, led by Prof Richard Drew (Consultant Clinical Microbiologist), Ms Lisa Clooney (AMS Pharmacist), and everyone involved.
