    Większość z tych dzieci jest zdrowa po urodzeniu, ale około 10% wymaga przyjęcia na oddział neonatologiczny. Wielu z naszych małych pacjentów urodziło się przed 32. tygodniem ciąży i ważyło mniej niż 1500 gramów. Małe wcześniaki (urodzone przed 34. tygodniem ciąży) oraz większe noworodki, które są chore, są przyjmowane na oddział noworodkowy na obserwację, leczenie i są pod stałą opieką specjalistyczną.
